Bilbao Museoa: a new digital platform for knowledge
The Bilbao Fine Arts Museum and its digital knowledge platform, a complex and ambitious project, expands the museum digitally and opens a new access door to its artistic and documentary heritage.
The platform is not simply a web renovation, but the result of a process of institutional reflection that redefines the way the museum studies, preserves and shares its collection. Based on a knowledge graph that intuitively connects collections, historical archives, library, exhibitions, activities and news, the platform offers a unified environment for exploration, research and discovery. In addition to these semantic connections, the project introduces two key editorial contributions:
+ Stories, curatorial capsules that propose thematic and transversal readings of the collection.
+ Arteder, the museum's encyclopedia, which brings together entries on artists, critics, entities and institutions linked to the history of Basque art and the museum's ongoing research.
From Deckard we have accompanied the Museum as digital curator of the project, with the mission to materialize its vision: to create a digital platform with the potential to tell any of the infinite stories that the museum can offer from its collections and its research work.
This project not only transforms the digital presence of the Bilbao Museoa, but also lays the foundations for a new form of relationship with its audiences: open, connected and deeply contextualized.
